MollyDog Products is the result of my dog's digestive difficulties.
Mollie, my 80-lb golden retriever, seemed to have a hard time
swallowing. Several of my dog-loving friends suggested that if I could
keep her head elevated while she ate, she would have an easier time
swallowing. I first tried sitting her dishes atop a short stool. That seemed to work, but she'd frequently knock her dishes to the floor while eating and drinking. I then decided to build an elevated stand to hold her dishes higher off the ground, but secure against spilling. The plain wooden stand did little to improve the aesthetics of my kitchen, so I got out my paints and brushes and created Mollie a table setting of her own. |

Those same friends decided they liked Mollie's new table as much as she
did, and asked if I'd make one for their four-legged friends. Several
different design suggestions emerged, along with requests for different
colours, and before I knew it, MollyDog Products was in full swing. Each MollyDog dog-dish holder -- I prefer to call them tables -- is handcrafted from half-inch plywood, and individually hand-painted by me in our home workshop. I make the tables with glued-and-screwed dado-joints for long life, and I seal the design motif beneath several coats of Varathane to protect the finish. Each table comes with two stainless steel 1, 2 or 3-quart dishes, and they're removable for easy cleaning. Here are just a few samples of the designs available. I'm happy to do custom work as well -- any theme, any colour, or I'll design one to match your own decor. |
